7 ½ Habits of Highly Effective Learners

I see myself in each of these, but I think that would be true for all of us. These work for both work and home. Habit 1 Begin with end in mind. Each task to accomplish requires planning, the process alone is learning. Habit 2 Accept responsibility for your own learning. Often times we are thrown into a situation and a solution can come from a book, thought or downright prayer.
Habit 3 View problems as challenge. I find myself in a new challenge, it's often harder to find the positive in something, but it's the best angle to keep. Habit 4 Have confidence in yourself as a competant, effective learner. If I lack confidence I can turn to my co-workers. I have the ability to learn, finding the extra time in a already filled day is the challenge. Habit 5 Create your own toolbox. I am a minority in the electronic world. There I've said it. I do have wireless at home and I like it. Habit 6 Use technology to your advantage. Okay. Habit 7 Teach/mentor others. Best way to learn is to teach it to others. I agree, but my dogs have a hard time reaching all handles. I don't find this so much through my work as I do through volunteering. Habit 7 1/2 PLAY! Play can be relaxing, fun, learning, gathering of minds, eating in between to keep energy levels high. Laughter they say is the best medicine. On these notes, the prairie is alive with the sound of meadowlarks and crickets. Play.
