Lesson 5:Gale Virtual Reference Library

Good Afternoon! 1)From the title list I chose: World of Forensic Science, 2005. There is a vast amount of information that would be good for high school health or biology classes or college level courses.
The table of contents listed few words, until clicking on a topic as Acceleration-Assassination did the titles appear. Choosing Air and Water Purity, Forensic Tests "Breathing in air or consumption of contaminated water contain a noxious compound that can be debilitating or deadly. Forensic testing includes testing of water and air to assess a purity or impurity." An example would be running a car in a garage, a small amount of carbon monoxide can certainly give a lingering headache, to much CO can cause coma and death.
2)I used the word zinc showing 8 results, I thought would be higher in forensic science. Choosing Friction Ridge Skin & Personal Identification:A History of Latent Finger Print Analysis (V.1/pg317-319). In 1904 the World's Fair was held in St. Louis Missouri. Queen Victoria of England sent by ship the crown jewels, with the help of Scotland Yard. Sargent John Ferrier brought a concept not introduced to America yet, fingerprint identification. The friction ridge skin is formed in the uterus at 4 months, remains through life and disintegrates in death. Listen feature hesitated at first, I like the feature how the text is highlighted as it is read.
Several other bloggers chose topics from books they are cataloging to terrorism and implementing into their classrooms.
