Lesson 8 - ArchiveGrid and Camio

Hello!
1.) Where would you have to go to read the papers of ...Theodore Schultz? Locating 4 results when I typed in the search box "theodore schultz", when I removed the " " 322 results. In the first item entitled Paper 1933-1988 it stated Mr. Schultz was "involved with the "oleomargarine controvery" at Iowa State and resigned his position in protest." Reading on, several other faculty members had resigned their positions as well. Mr. Schultz was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1979.
2.) What results can you find in CAMIO...the way people dressed in Charles Dickens'...
Using key words suggested, I chose the Advanced Search, no results, no results, no results were my results. Going 'Home" I clicked on Costume & Jewelry, on the left column I was able to choose format (cotton or silk), time frame and museums. Interesting how I could pick and choose the museums, remove and simplify results. Not many results of dress for men, other than a pair of britches. The beautiful day and evening gowns, bodices and petticoats didn't look very comfortable, c.1875 finding more silk than cotton. Several items were included the Elizabeth Day McCormick Collections and Philadelphia Museum of Art. Interesting. Beautiful. Elegant.

The clothes from Charles Dicken's time period don't look very comfortable! It is amazing that we can look up that info from the comfort of our library though! Thanks for your post,
